The Bulgarian striker had missed a couple of goalscoring chances in the goalless first half against Rovers at Old Trafford on Saturday night.

However, ten minutes into the second period Berbatov opened the scoring with a spectacular goal.

After being named ESPN Man of the Match he told the Sports Channel: "As long as we keep on winning I think everyone will be happy.

"In the first half, I had a couple of chances - you need to be patient and when another one comes, you need to score it.

"It is always difficult to play against Blackburn as they are a big, strong side.

"When you score you are relieved. You feel that you have done something special and that was the case."
