"I might be nervous because it's a new team, new players, a new atmosphere," Berbatov admitted.
"But hopefully with the help of my team-mates I can find my place in the side and help the team with my goals."
United signed the striker from Tottenham on transfer window deadline day despite late interest in his signature from local rivals Manchester City.
However, Berbatov has admitted that he only ever wanted to sign for United.
"I would not even have thought about Manchester City. My only goal was to come to United.
"I heard about the offer City made and the money they wanted to spend. It did not make any difference to me. I just wanted to come here.
"My ambitions and goals are big and I want to fulfil them at the biggest club in the world. That was my only goal - and I achieved it."
