BEWARE OF THE BACKLASH

"There were some strange results last Tuesday and Wednesday but most of the teams have been playing so much, and there have been so many trips, that once in a while those things happen."

"I wasn't surprised when Maccabi Haifa beat Olympiakos because I had a little private bet regarding the quality of their team. I know them from the past because I have come up against them and I knew they were not an easy team. I had a feeling that playing at home, they could make things happen. Unfortunately for Olympiakos and fortunately for us and Leverkusen, they did it on Tuesday."

Queiroz believes that Haifa beating the Greek champions is a timely warning ahead of United’s trip to Cyprus and adds that Olympiakos will be fired up tomorrow night.

"Now Olympiakos have lost three and they need to recover those points wherever it will be. They will not have a better chance to get back into the group than by getting a good result here. They play very good football and with players like Giovanni, Ze Elias and Giannakopolous from the Greek national team, have a good side."

With Mikael Silvestre struggling with a knee injury and Nicky Butt doubtful after taking a blow to his back at Charlton Gary Neville looks set for a start against Olympiakos.

"Gary was fantastic after he came on and he may well start on Tuesday,'' Alex Ferguson told MUTV.

"Nicky struggled on for a bit after the injury but we had to take him off in the end and we will need to check how he is. Mikael is pretty doubtful though.''
