Scotland boss Walter Smith will hold talks about Celtic players and Darren Fletcher from Manchester United being released for the Kirin Cup in Japan.
Scotland depart on 7 May but Celtic play Manchester United on 9 May and Newcastle on 11 May in testimonials.
"I am hoping that we would be able to get the players for the trip to Japan," said Smith.
