* Sky Sports about Geard Pique (on loan at Real Zaragoza):

Pique is spending the season on loan in La Liga and the Spanish defender is unsure what the future holds.

He revealed last week that he is keen to forge a career at Old Trafford, but is also wary about returning to the Premiership leaders.

The youngster admitted that, if next season promises a diet of reserve-team football, then he would prefer to stay with Zaragoza.

According to reports in Spain those comments have prompted Zaragoza to start enquiries with regards to a permanent deal for Pique.

A figure of €6million (£4million) has reportedly been quoted for the ex-Barcelona youth, with Zaragoza keen to negotiate down to €4m (£2.7m).

If a price can not be agreed, then the Spanish media expect Zaragoza to ask for another season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal in 2008

* The Mail:

Celtic "may consider an appeal" after being fined a paltry £420 by UEFA after bottle-throwing incidents involving supporters during the Champions League match against AC Milan at the San Siro, on March 7.

The club had fought the UEFA action and could now appeal, insisting they should not be held liable as the two empty bottles came from a part of the stadium which was not officially allocated to Celtic supporters.

* MEN on Micah Richards rumours:

Peter Barnes, who moved from City to United via Coventry, today urged Richards to stay at City, saying: "When I went to United it was from Coventry and a long time after I had been at City. Reds boss Dave Sexton, who was my England under-21 manager, would have liked to buy me but City would never have sold me directly to United.

"If I was Micah I would just sit tight at City no matter who said they wanted me and keep on learning my trade. He is liked by the fans and playing for the Blues has not done him any harm or stopped him winning England caps and I am sure City will still be in the Premiership next season.

"Anyone who left City for United would probably get stick for the rest of his life. But if the Reds do make an enquiry then City should quote a ridiculous price."

* We have covered this before but seeing it is in the news again:

Milan's Gennaro Gattuso:

"Maybe for two or three years I have had the chance to go and play for Manchester.

"I have never spoken to Ferguson.

"At this moment it's impossible to go to another team right now as I have signed a new contract for 2011."

* China assistant coach Li Shu-bin about Dong:

"You need the confidence to express yourself at this level, which Dong has gained from training and playing with Manchester United.

"He doesn't fear top notch players because he's working with them in Manchester. We'll see the same thing from Sun Xiang (PSV Eindhoven) when he is available."

* Portsmouth's Benjani quoted here after an alleged row about a girlfriend with fellow Zimbabwe player Peter Ndlovu:

"I don't fight about girlfriends. I have a lot of them, and I am married."
