Blanc Considers Contract Offer

Ex-France international Laurent Blanc is to sit down and discuss a new contract despite his insistance that this season will be his last in football. Blanc has performed well recently, seemingly unfazed by criticism that he received back at the start of the season.

Many amongst the media viewed the signing of Blanc as a mistake by Fergie but the World Cup & European Championship Winner has proved his critics wrong with some sterling performances of late.

A defender who famously lacks pace is now thirty-six but that was not enough to put Sir Alex Ferguson off.

Blanc told MUTV: "It is true that about a week ago United did speak to me, and they have offered me a new contract".

"But at the moment I am just thinking about about winning something for United out of respect for my team-mates".
