BLIND FAITH

Gary Neville thinks that United will be able to bounce back following Wednesday's game. And in a stark contrast to Keane's captaincy he actually backs the players too.

"The players do not have to lift themselves, they know their responsibilities,"

"They have a lot of fight in them as they have shown over the last few weeks. That is why they are at Manchester United.

"Now, we have to say the right things and do the right things.

"Providing we keep giving 100%, we know the fans will back us. Now it is up to us to perform well and react well on Sunday."

"There is no doubt we have underachieved in Europe this season. We cannot hide from that fact and there is nothing I can say to the fans that will make them feel any better," said Neville.

"I am sure there will be a little bit of a circus surrounding this defeat. But we have to remove ourselves from that and stay together as a team.

He then harks back to yester-year.

"The last time something like this happened was in 1995 when we got knocked out of the Uefa Cup by Rotor Volgograd. We went on to win the Premiership and the FA Cup that season and we will react well from this as well.

"There will be no excuses for us now in terms of preparation or fixture congestion. We just have to try and win every game, starting with Everton on Sunday."
