BOYHOOD RED OUT TO HURT US

Shaun Bartlett:

"We would like to have some influence on the outcome and the
title. I followed Manchester United as a boy in South
Africa, where we get more Premiership games than local ones.
I grew up supporting them - people love supporting winners.
But we have to think about ourselves and make sure we can
get a result out of it.

"Most teams, when they play the likes of United and Arsenal,
feel quite inferior and think they don't belong on the same
pitch. With Charlton it's totally different. We believe that
once you get on the park we are all equal. You've got to
give them some degree of respect, but we've got a good
record at Old Trafford."

He also had praise for Ruud Van Nistelrooy:

"Ruud is one of the best finishers I have seen. Every time
he gets a chance he always makes sure he'll try and put it
away. He is the danger man for the game. If we can isolate
him and not give him any opportunities then we have a
chance. I would be more than happy with a point. It would be
bad for them, but excellent for us."
