The Guardian report:

‘In giving Fenerbahce's midfielder Marco Aurelio the shirt off his back at the end of Tuesday night's game, Wayne Rooney presented the Brazilian with a consolation prize worth at least £10,000.

‘According to Mike Goodall, who has auctioned hundreds of thousands of pounds' worth of sporting memorabilia: "£10,000 is the minimum you'd get at a charity auction in London. Wayne is a millionaire already but I'm sure he did not realise just what an important shirt he was giving away.”’
