BRYAN ROBSON CHANGED MY LIFE

Phil Neville thinks that Kieran Richardson’s loan spell at West Brom will help him move towards getting a first team place at Old Trafford.

"Kieran continued the form with England in America that he has shown for West Brom this season. I know they have been very pleased with him down at West Brom.

"In the short time he was with England on tour you could see the confidence he had gained from playing regular Premiership football.

"We've always known that he has got the talent. I think it was just about getting that bit of confidence that he has always needed. Even before he started training with England, you could see the confidence in him as a person.

"At the start of last season with United, he was good in pre-season but then when you don't play regularly you don't get that confidence that you need to go on and play at international level.

"Going away with West Brom, he gained that belief that he could play amongst the best players and he took that on to the international stage in the United States."

But where is he going to play?

"He did start the season at left-back. He played there in the Carling Cup in Crewe but I think he shows too much going forward to play in that left-back position.

"But you never know. He has got a similar stature to Ashley Cole, similar pace. He can play in a number of positions. He played centre of midfield for West Brom, left-back and left-wing for us, so he looks a good prospect."
