Gerard Houllier thinks United are a much beater side than his no matter what today's result is.

"Even if we beat them in a cup competition, it doesn't mean we are better. I think they are better than us, it's as simple as that," he said.

He went on: "They are a great side, we are a good side.

"We are not better than Manchester United, they have more quality and maturity but we are getting there."
