Man United stars Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand had an amazing escape when Rio's Range Rover swerved into a 10ft ditch and rolled over.
Rooney, a passenger in the £70,000 motor, had to kick out a window to get free.
Starlet Chris Eagles was also in the vehicle driven by £29million-rated Rio.
The trio were left badly shaken but unhurt after the accident on a singletrack private road leading to the club's Carrington training complex.
A United spokesman confirmed last night: "There was an incident with Rio Ferdinand's vehicle going off the road on a concrete track used by players to get to and from training.
"Although the vehicle went down into a ditch none of the players were injured or needed hospital treatment although they were shook up a little."
