Lucky Arsenal scrape through on pens against Doncaster to play Wigan

Ties to be played on 11th or 12th January with return legs on 25th or 26th January

Gary Neville:

"It is a competition I have never won, so I would like to win it for that reason alone.

"I realise as captain I would lift the trophy but I am more interested in the team winning something. It is strange but it is a competition which just seems to have eluded me throughout the last 10 years.

"We got to the final three seasons ago and couldn't quite do it and we got pipped at the post by Chelsea in the semis last year.

"Hopefully, we can get one stage further this season and go on and finish the job.

"You could say the tournament has come full circle for us because we are treating it differently to how we did a few years back.

"We are still using it to blood youngsters but because we come into it a little bit later now, winning it is almost too good an opportunity to turn down. We have shown that by getting to semi-finals and finals over the last few seasons.

"The semi-final is bound to be difficult even if the competition has opened up a little bit this year.

"But we enjoy being in semi-finals, winning trophies is important to us and we are one of four teams who have an opportunity to do it."

The new mag is out on Boxing Day.
