CARLOS IS NOT THE MAN ACCORDING TO TOMMY DOC

From his column in The Sunday Pink:

Carlos Queiroz is not the man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

The Reds boss this week said his Portuguese No 2 should be given the manager's job at Manchester United when he retires.

But Queiroz wasn't the biggest success in the world at Real Madrid was he!

For me, he wouldn't even be in the top three in the list of Fergie's possible replacements.

My first pick would be Martin O'Neill. He is an excellent manager, has been in charge of a big club in Celtic, and has had experience of managing in Europe by guiding the Bhoys to a UEFA Cup final.

Next on my list would be Alan Curbishley. He has done a tremendous job at Charlton over the years and is on the verge of securing a European spot this season.

And I wouldn't rule out Gordon Strachan as a possible replacement.

But whoever is next in line for the Reds, I hope they don't get their hands on the job for a good few years yet because the best man for the role is still Fergie.
