CARRICK DIDN'T EXPECT TREBLE DID

Michael Carrick, "I didn't think I would be in with a shout of three trophies in my first season. As soon as I arrived, I was thinking about challenging for things because that is what this club is all about. But I didn't think at this stage we would be going as strong as we are. We are in such a good position, but it can be thrown away as quickly as we have earned it. We are well aware of that, which is why we are not getting carried away with things. We have just got stronger and stronger as the season has gone on."

Carrick is enjoying playing alongside Paul Scholes and is learning from one of the greatest midfielders of his generation, "Just playing with Paul teaches you a lot. He makes the game look very easy. It has just been a case of getting to know each other's play and the longer the season has gone on we have just settled more. The performances have shown that - in the last few weeks we have been really good - and hopefully that can continue."
