In an exclusive interview Green revealed he is unlikely to make peace with the United manager in the foreseeable future.

The pair, who used to be firm friends, haven't spoken since the mid-1990s:

'Fergie is an obnoxious individual and a bully, it's as simple as that, unless he is suddenly going to mellow or look back when he retires and rethink his outlook - which I very much doubt - then I don't think Alex and I will be speaking again. But I won't lose any sleep over it.“

'The funny thing is, we live quite close to each other but, thankfully, I never see him.I cannot stand him any more than he can stand me, but that will not affect what i say about him or his team. “
