CHARLTON HEAD TO HEAD

Last updated : 27 September 2002 By Editor

From Official site:

‘Manchester United's history against Charlton is one of mixed fortunes. The Addicks were United's opponents when Sir Alex Ferguson's side recorded their 100th Premiership victory.

But Alan Curbishly's men were also the opposition when the Reds' 115-game run without a 0-0 draw came to an end in May of last season.

However, it is rare for the two sides to share such a meagre performance. In the last six games the two sides have shared 17 goals, and in that time United have remained unbeaten.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to be a lucky charm Sir Alex Ferguson when they come up against the side from the Valley. Solskjaer has scored six times in six appearances against the club.

In 49 previous meetings United have been victors on 28 occasions, with Charlton picking up just 10 wins in all competitions.

You would have to go back to the 1989/90 season for the last time Charlton beat Sir Alex Ferguson's charges, and United will hope that they can continue their change of form after defeating Spurs and Leverkusen.’
