Chelsea 3-5 Manchester United- FA Cup video classics

Last updated : 07 March 2013 By DSG

In January 1998 Stamford Bridge played host to this intriguing FA Cup encounter between the Chelsea of Ruud Gullit and Manchester United. The game had everything from great goals, a curling Beckham free kick as well as Gary Pallister's entry for worst back-pass of all time.

With the big FA cup game looming this Sunday between Manchester United and Chelsea we've gone and found (courtesy of our friends at the FA) a classic encounter between the two footballing giants. Beckham scores a brace as United romp ahead with five goals without reply against a woeful looking Chelsea defence, only to completely switch off and allow Chelsea back into the game. Graeme le Saux started the Chelsea revival and if the game was just ten minutes longer this may well have gone down as one of the greatest comebacks of all time. Ruud Gullit's side restored some pride to the scoreline but it wasn't to be this time.

Sit back and watch an absolute cracker in this eight goal thriller from the 1997-1998 season.
