Fergie blames reports about a feud between Ricardo and Barthez on journalists stirring up trouble.

'It is absolute nonsense,' he told the Manchester Evening News. 'There is nothing in it whatsoever.

'The problem comes when the players are on international duty. Between whatever they say and the interpretation of it, it always comes back misconstrued or mischievously interpreted a different way and that can cause embarrassment.

'Last year we had it with Mikael Silvestre and stuff that was supposed to be coming from him when he was in France. It happens to other clubs as well but there is definitely no truth in it.'
