'Both clubs have been charged with failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. The charges follow a mass confrontation during the match on April 24 after which four players - three from Manchester - were cautioned.
"We will state our case politely yet forcefully and passionately," said a spokesman.
