CITY SQUAD SUING EACH OTHER

The Mirror report:

‘The youth-team player at the centre of the Manchester City Christmas party bust-up is set to sue Joey Barton. Jamie Tandy, an 18-year-old midfielder, has twice had hospital treatment, seen a club doctor and has now visited a specialist at Manchester Eye Hospital after Barton poked a burning cigar into his eyes.

The teenager is believed to have suffered internal damage and could be permanently scarred. He is seeking legal advice following the attack, which Barton maintains was an accident.

‘Barton has been hit with a £100,000 fine for gross misconduct. Mirror Sport understands that could even be increased to a six-week penalty of £142,000 for the vicious act. Now the 22-year-old's team-mates are becoming fed up with his 'tiresome' antics and the general feeling within the squad is that enough is enough.

‘Barton remains most in the firing line as the ramifications of the now infamous bash, at Lucid nightclub in Manchester city centre, roll on. The England Under-21 star has only narrowly avoided the sack for the incident following a hastily arranged investigation at the club's training ground.’
