Nicky has signed for Birmingham City after a difficult time in Newcastle. Steve Bruce seems happy enough about this:
"I don't care what some people might think about Nicky Butt," said Bruce. "He was playing for England only nine months ago and they shouldn't forget that fact. He is still in and around the squad even though he might not have had the best of times at Newcastle.
"Sometimes people simply don't fit in at certain clubs and it's difficult to put your finger on why that is. It means nothing to me. I am fully aware of his pedigree and of just how good a player he is. Butt is top class but maybe he just couldn't settle at St James' Park."
