Sir Alex Sexton is in breach of United's new stadium rules. It seems once he has written his programme notes he doesn't bother to read the rest of it

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is caught in the act breaking the club's tough new rules on dropping chewing gum. Fans have been urged to stop dumping gum inside Old Trafford. The club stuck up posters and put a strong message in the match programme - but Fergie didn't take a blind bit of notice. Just seconds after the final whistle of United's Champions League victory against Benfica on Tuesday night, Fergie flung his gum on the floor. Millions of TV viewers saw the United boss pull a huge blob from his mouth before discarding it.

In the programme United urged: "If you chew, you know what to do!”Supporters are kindly asked to use the chewing gum boards around the concourse areas of the stadium. "Chewing gum dropped on the floor is difficult to remove and the club kindly ask supporters to refrain from dropping chewing gum and to instead stick it to the clearly marked boards."
