John O’Shea:

"As soon as we met up in Portugal for the first week of pre-season training, you could sense the determination to get over what happened last season. We have not won the title for two seasons now and you can see how hungry everyone is to bring that run to an end.

"There is a real desire in the camp, which is fantastic to see. Everyone, from the playing staff to the coaches, is trying to ensure the build-up is as perfect as it can possibly be. The start is crucial. Even though we did not have the worst of starts last season, we could have done a lot better. Now we know we have to, that is how far the standards have been raised.

"People talk about Chelsea but we should not be worrying about other teams. When I look around our dressing room at the talent we have, I feel there is every reason for us to be confident. Chelsea only lost one game last season and Arsenal didn't lose any the year before. Our aim is to match that form. We have to set out from the first day of the season and try to remain unbeaten."
