Club Brugge find themselves in the Europa League after finishing third in a difficult Champions League group with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray.

Team News

Manchester United will be missing long-term absentees Marcus Rashford (back) and Scott McTominay (knee).

Eric Bailly made it through Monday night's fixture against Chelsea with a brilliant performance, an encouraging sign for United fans that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer will have a selection headache at centre-back.

Surprisingly at this stage of the season, Club Brugge have no current injuries. This amazing run of good fortune could be a contributing factor to their nine-point lead that they've amassed in their domestic league.

Predicted Lineups

Club Brugge Mignolet; Mata, Mechele, Ricca; Sobol, Vormer, Balanta, Vanaken, Okereke; Schrijvers, Krmenčik
Manchester United Romero; Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Wan-Bissaka, Pereira, Matic, Fred, Dalot; Greenwood, Martial

Head-to-Head Record

Thursday's clash will be the third fixture between Club Brugge and Manchester United. Unfortunately for the Belgians, they've only ever tasted defeat against their English counterparts.

Both clashes occurred in the Champions League playoff round at the start of the 2015/16 season, where the Red Devils ran out 7-1 winners on aggregate.

In the opening fixture of the tie, Brugge took a shock lead through an own goal from current first-team coach Michael Carrick. Louis van Gaal's team wouldn't be phased by this and would hit seven goals without reply over the two legs, with the first finishing 3-1 after Memphis Depay hit a brilliant brace.

In the second leg, a hat-trick from Wayne Rooney and a strike from Ander Herrera would seal an emphatic win in Bruges.

Recent Form

Manchester United are probably the most erratic form team in the Premier League - given their outstanding win in west London on Monday, you wouldn't put it past fans to be expecting a disappointing result this Thursday.

The Red Devils have been plagued by inconsistency this season, often beating better opposition and losing to less-fancied sides. Since losing at home to Burnley in January, Manchester United are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak, including wins at Chelsea and Manchester City.

Anthony Martial

Club Brugge come into the tie in rich form. Brugge have not lost in the league since November and their last loss comes in the impressive form of a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

They've recently qualified for the Belgian Cup final and are favourites to win a domestic double this season. Last weekend saw them defeat Waasland-Beveren 2-1 at home, where they were able to rest a couple of key individuals in preparation for Thursday's game.

Prediction

As unpredictable as this Manchester United side have been this season, it's difficult to look beyond them winning here.

Club Brugge are a side that don't score that many goals in Europe so it's difficult to see the Belgians piercing a defence that hasn't been breached in four consecutive games.
