Barca's Spanish defender Carlos Puyol seems to be interested in coming to Old Trafford and with the defensive injuries at the moment it might not be a bad idea. Puyol said

"It's not just about technique and goals these days.

"Defenders are important, too. And when we have to show some balls, we do. It's the sort of attitude I would bring to United.

"I'm a versatile player for club and country — and that's why I'm an interesting prospect for coaches."

"To play in a league such as the English one and for United must be marvellous and a unique chance for any player.

"I know some people who would even pay for the opportunity.

"I feel honoured simply to be linked to United. That a coach of the standing of Ferguson praises you is something to be proud of.

"But I'm not going to go mad. Barcelona are not playing the Champions League this season yet they are a more prestigious side than many taking part in the competition."
