COMING OR GOING

Roy Keane will have to wait to make his return to international football after pulling out of the Republic of Ireland squad to face Poland on Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

Republic of Ireland assistant manager Chris Hughton said:

'Roy has a hamstring injury. He wanted to travel but it was pointless him going to Poland. He was very upset about it. He really wanted to make the trip.'

Manager Kerr added

"Manchester United have important games coming up so in his best interests there was no point in him coming. He wanted to go but we said no. If he wasn't going to play he's better off returning to United for treatment. Of course he was disappointed. He would have liked to have lined up against Poland but he hasn't played much for his club."
