Cristiano Ronaldo has said he is confident of leading Manchester United to glory after sealing a sensational deadline day return to his former club.
Ronaldo's initial six-year spell with United began in 2003. During that time he helped the club secure a long list of silverware, winning three Premier League titles, a Champions League, as well as a host of other domestic honours.
Ronaldo continued to collect trophies after departing Old Trafford and he has no intention of breaking that habit now he has returned to the Red Devils.
"This is why I am here," he told former teammate Wes Brown, in an interview posted on the club's website.
"I am not here for a vacation. As I told you, before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again.
"I am capable, me and my team-mates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years."
Ronaldo should make his debut when Newcastle travel to Old Trafford on Saturday. Whether or not he starts, however, remains to be seen.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made United's other summer signings wait for their chance in the first team so far this season, but he could make an exception for one of the greatest players of all time. Ronaldo has a terrific record against the Magpies, winning 10 of his previous 11 games against them.
If he does not make the starting XI on Saturday he will likely be thrown in from the start when his side kicks off their Champions League group stage campaign against Young Boys on Tuesday.
