Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out on social media amid interview controversy

Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is solely focused on the World Cup with Portugal, amid all the fallout from his fiery interview about his life at Manchester United.

Ronaldo sent shockwaves around the world earlier this week when he sat down to admit he does not respect Erik ten Hag and accused the Glazer family of not caring about the club.

With comments from the interview still emerging and Ronaldo commanding the headlines for all the wrong reasons, the 37-year-old has spoken out on social media.

"Total and absolute focus on the work of the National Team," he wrote. "A united group, towards a single objective: to fulfil the dream of all Portuguese people!"

Ronaldo is now away with the Portugal national team as they prepare to try and qualfy from Group H against Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea.

After the tournament, Ronaldo's future at club level will command the spotlight once again. He is free to leave United but his list of suitors was not long in the summer and just how many would be keen to sign the veteran striker after this interview is unclear.
