Defender To Miss Cup Final

The 18-year-old Brazilian right back has been ruled out for about a month with the ankle injury he sustained in last weekend's Premier League match win against Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford and so misses the final at Wembley on Sunday.

"He's out for a month with a hairline fracture of his ankle," United boss Sir Alex Ferguson told the club's official website.

"It's a blow because he's been playing in all the cup games and he's done so well.

"He deserves to be in the final."
