‘At half-time the conversation was all about the poor fayre on offer so far and who had or hadn't got tickets for the Maine Road Derby. As with all United away games, demand has exceeded supply and there were plenty of disappointed people bemoaning the fact they'd missed out in the 'ballot'. None of them were too dejected though; they all seemed to have a friend of a friend of a mate who might have a 'spare'. The discussions and stories about who'd swapped 'two Fulham for a Derby ticket' continued right up to the start of the second half. It seemed they were more bothered about our next domestic away game than they were this one.’
