"The manager has spoken with my agent and I am told my contract will stop at the end of the season, and I will not get a new one. I am very disappointed because, three weeks ago, he suggested to my agent that maybe if we stayed up I could possibly stay at City. I was happy with that because I have settled well here."

He will leave with the boos of city's dead good fans ringing in his ears:

"When I scored against Villa they kept shouting `shoot, shoot' every time I got the ball. And because my English was not so good then I thought they were booing me, until my wife told me after the game. From then on I think we have really understood each other, and I thank them."
