DING DONG OVER DONG

From Sky Sports:

Chinese outfit Dalian Shide have revealed that they want Manchester United to take Dong Fangzhuo on loan.

Dalian's main concern for Dong is that he could be shipped to United's Belgian feeder club Royal Antwerp, as has happened to the likes of Arthur Gomez, Souleymane Mamam and Yasser Hussain in recent seasons.

The Chinese club are owned by the Shide Group, one of the richest companies in China, and money is not an issue for them and so the player's interests rest at the heart of any possible move.

"Our attitude is very positive, but the matter is still at a preliminary stage," said Lin.

"Manchester United offered a transfer fee above one million pounds, but Shide's stance is firm.

"That is, we hope that Dong could join Manchester United by means of a long-term loan."
