Donny van de Beek & Dean Henderson considered for Man Utd exits in January

Manchester United will look to sell players in January before they consider making any signings, with both Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson among those potentially up for sale.

Incoming interim boss Ralf Rangnick is set to take over the side this weekend after an agreement was reached between United and current employers Lokomotiv Moscow, so attention has now turned to the upcoming transfer window.

The Telegraph don't expect United to be busy in January, with the club's focus more on outgoings than incomings.

Unsettled fringe players like Van de Beek and Henderson are expected to be considered for exits, with United keen to improve morale and free up some space in the squad for any minor changes which Rangnick may look to make.

Sources have confirmed to 90min that goalkeeper Henderson has been told he is free to leave on loan, but the Englishman would rather a permanent exit as he has fears about his stalling development behind David de Gea.

As for Jesse Lingard, the feeling is that he is likely to be allowed to walk away at the end of the season rather than be sold in January, with United reluctant to weaken themselves in attack.

Newcastle United, Everton, West Ham and AC Milan are all keeping a close eye on Lingard, and while a permanent transfer this winter has not been ruled out completely, the feeling is that he will remain at Old Trafford until the summer of 2022.

As interim manager, Rangnick would not usually have a significant input in the club's transfer dealings, but given he is set for a consultancy role when his time in the dugout comes to an end, his opinions will likely be heard immediately.

There are not expected to be any significant spends this winter, but United may look to bolster in a number of their weaker positions, with right-back a longstanding area of concern in the squad.

Diogo Dalot could be allowed to leave after struggling for minutes against Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but United would prefer to have an alternative lined up before letting him go.
