DON'T MENTION THE ‘R' WORD

Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan was "livid" with referee Dermot Gallagher after his side were beaten 3-0 at home by Chelsea.

Keegan felt the visitors should have been down to ten-men after just three minutes after Marcel Desailly appeared to tug Shaun Goater back.

Gallagher waved play on and the City boss admitted: "I am livid. I think the cameras will show Dermot made a mistake. If he sees that as a foul, he knows he has to send Desailly off and we feel very hard done by.

"It was a cruel defeat because we were the better side for 70 minutes. If there had been any justice we would have got the goal which I think would have enabled us to go on and win the game. People will see that we have conceded three goals at home again and think that we have been battered, but that wasn't the case."

Keegan added: "When we fell behind, I think some of the players thought: `Oh, not again.' There is a lack of confidence."
