ENGLAND MORE IMPORTANT THAN UNITED?

Looks like Fergie will be having a word with Beckham &
Rio’s when they return to Old Trafford.

Beckham was asked about the brewing club vs. country row and
said:

"We need to find a way round it. England is as important, if
not more, than club football. It's always difficult because
we play so many games around this time. It's nothing to do
with players and nothing to do with me as captain. It's
between the FA and whoever else. We're here to play
football.

He also said that he enjoys the break from the Premiership
that the international scene offers him:

"It's good to come away with England. It's sort of a
refreshing time for all the lads,

"I don't think players need a lot of geeing up during the
week. If players need it before the game, they will do that.
We just enjoy being here as a team of players.

"There's no tension. I am sure there will be an hour before
kick-off but we will leave the worrying to other people.
We'll just enjoy training and being here."

Rio has also been at it, saying that he doesn’t want an end
to friendlies:

"It would be a shame if we weren't allowed to play for our
country.

"We're paid to play a game we love and I want to play every
match.

"I want to keep my eye in and want to make sure someone else
doesn't get the chance to take my place for England."
