Juventus opened up a three point lead at the top of Serie A on Sunday after ending Udinese's unbeaten home record with a 1-0 win at the Friuli stadium.
David Trezeguet, Italy's top goalscorer last season with 24 goals, came off the bench to volley home Gianluca Zambrotta's cross six minutes from time.
Deportivo La Coruna 2 (Tristan, Victor) Villarreal 1 (Lopez)
Depor moved up to third, within three points of Real Madrid with a 2-1 home win against Villarreal. Depor went behind after only ten minutes to a Jorge Lopez penalty and it was another penalty from Diego Tristan that levelled the scores twenty minutes later. A second goal from Victor just before half-time settled the match.
FC Basel 2 (Haas, M.Yakin) Servette FC 0
A goal in each half saw FC Basel cruise to a 2-0 home win against Servette.
