EXEC PRICES SLASHED AS GLAZERS START TO PANIC

When United announced the availability of the all new "Super Suite" last month it was widely reported as costing £264,375 per season. From the Sun at the time:

"Manchester United is offering fans top notch executive boxes — for a staggering £264,000.

"The Super Suites in Old Trafford's quadrant developments cost almost three times the current top box price of £90,000.

"The huge price leap is the first since the Florida-based Glazer family's takeover left the club an estimated £540million in debt."

Now however, United's official site shows the price as having been greatly reduced to 'only' £205,000:

Super Suites
Terms: Every season, every first team home game
Dress Code: Smart casual
Price: £205,625 (VAT inclusive)

This reduction would surely have nothing to do with the difficulty United are having in shifting these hopelessly overpriced seats, offering little better than a plate of pub grub at extortionate prices. Oh, and half price admission to the museum!

The club is already wasting thousands and thousands advertising the "last few available packages" on prime time TV, claiming over 75% are already taken. You can bet anything the real figure is much lower. One source has told RI:

"The company involved in the marketing of these exec boxes has said that they're having a hell of a job selling them"

Whilst another emails in:

"I've been to several games at OT this season as a guest of a company who have one of the smaller Executive boxes in the stadium. The company have recently been informed by United that these smaller boxes will no longer be available as they are being upgraded to hold more people. They have been asked do they want to pay the extra for one of these larger boxes. They have told United that they will NOT be renewing their facilities."

This company are not the only one unhappy with matters. Still, good to see the Glazers are even handed when it comes to pissing off exec and non-exec supporters alike!
