From The Guardian:

‘Last week the chief executive Adam Crozier resigned after refusing to accept the demands of Premier League chairmen for changes in the way the professional game is run, and Pattison, a close ally, is thought to share his reservations. Pattison will remain a member of the FA council.

The FA chairman Geoff Thompson expressed his regret at the third high-profile resignation from Soho Square in five days, the assistant England coach Steve McClaren having gone on Friday.

"I am extremely saddened by Frank's decision to resign," he said. "Frank has made a wonderful contribution to the FA as a vice-chairman and chairman of our national game board. [His] tireless work to support football at all levels, but particularly grassroots football in this country, will be sorely missed by the FA at board level and throughout the national game."
