Jules Spencer from IMUSA:

"IMUSA and all Manchester United fans will be delighted with
the news. The esteem that Sir Alex is held in goes without
saying. We're keen to find out the details, of whether this
is the original offer that was made or if it has had to be
toned down due to the intervention of Magnier and McManus.
If it has been altered we would want to know why. As long as
he wants the job, as long as he remains hungry for success,
United fans will be happy to see him stay,"

Shareholders United vice-chairman Sean Bones:

"The fans at Old Trafford cherish the managers we've had and
Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager we have had here since
Sir Matt Busby and there's no way we're going to let him go.
Part of the battle has been won but we have to keep fighting
the war against a takeover. Every supporter has to do
everything they can to stop the club being taken over."
