FC UNITED CLAIM TITLE

FC United, having won one of the three promotion spots into the Unibond League two weeks ago, won the NW Counties League championship last night with a 7-1 win at Gigg Lane, with Ryan Giggs' brother Rhodri opening the scoring.

With three league games remaining only one promotion spot remains, with Nantwich and Salford battling it out to join FC and Curzon Ashton.

FC will be presented with the trophy at their final game against Formby at Gigg Lane on Saturday 28th April.

After that comes the League Cup final on Thursday 3rd May, with FC chasing the double against the runners-up and FA Vase semi-finalists Curzon Ashton. The game will be played at Curzon's Tameside Arena.
