FERDINAND'S RELIEF

After his level headed and almost interesting interview for Pravda.com Rio Ferdinand actually turned in a reasonable performance and scored a goal. After the game he said he was relieved to finally score:

"Yes, I'm not going to lie," He told Sky Sports "It has been bothering me.

"In training, the lads get on to me and stuff so it's about time I notched. I get up there enough."

"Every game's imperative that we win now," added Ferdinand.

"We can't get one good result then get a bad result, that's not going to win us anything, so we've got to remain consistent."

Wayne Rooney says he wasn’t annoyed at being denied his hat trick by Ruud van Nistelrooy taking the penalty. He said:

"No, Ruud's the penalty taker so he takes the penalties,"

"There's nothing wrong with that."
