FERGIE – DON'T WRITE US OFF

Fergie:

"This situation is just perfect for Manchester United.
Everyone thinks we're knackered - and that suits us fine.

"Where I think we have been hit is in the defending part.
Losing Rio Ferdinand was a bad one and injuries and
suspension to Gary Neville has forced us to keep changing
the back four. But what has happened in that period hasn't
stopped our attacking thrust - we still have goals in the
team. We are capable of scoring goals and that will have to
be the case on Tuesday.

"You never know, people may be writing good things about us
next week after the Porto game. All that concerns me is
trying to win something. We always say every year 'let's try
and win a trophy' and it doesn't matter what it is. You see
the pressure managers are under today and you see what's
happening elsewhere in the game at the moment and you just
know you can't be guaranteed to win anything, you can't be
and you'd be silly to think that way.

"Now we have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, going
into the Porto match, it is not be the ogre everyone thinks
it is. Then if we get to the quarter-finals of the Champions
League everything is alive and anything is possible."
