'They all recognise his contribution at the club and what he has done since, especially with England. I have followed his career, as I do with any player who leaves United. Beckham made a good start to his loan spell with Milan last Wednesday in front of Capello, playing 75 minutes in the 5-2 defeat of Genoa and faces title rivals Juventus today.
He still regrets leaving United and said: 'I would love to have stayed at United for my whole career and never gone anywhere else but it was just not meant to be.
'United are so special to me and I have never been back as a player, so to go back seven years after as a Milan player is perfect. It is an experience I want to cherish. It is going to be a special and emotional night.
'I'm sure they will all try to kick me if they can because we were together for so many years and we were so successful together.'
