"Our matches against Newcastle are invariably free-flowing,"
said Ferguson, "Both clubs share the same philosophy of
attacking football and the number of goals we produced in
the two games last season emphasises that. They were both so
exciting and that is the kind of game you expect every time
we play them.
"There have been periods within games recently when we have
done very well and you cannot hide the fact we have had
tricky away fixtures at Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Aston
Villa and Bolton recently and won the lot.
"Obviously it is March and April when we are hoping to be at
full throttle but the most important thing we are doing at
the moment is keeping our consistency, especially in
defence. We worked really hard to get through the final five
minutes at Bolton on Wednesday.
"There were a few hairy moments at the end but we saw it
through because there is such great determination to get the
result."
