Sir Alex Ferguson has not given up hope of catching Chelsea and he thinks United's form may see them run closer than expected.

"You never know what can happen," said Fergie. "But I hope we have made Chelsea think about the situation.

"If Chelsea do slip up, then you never know. I'm going to keep banging on to my players about that because I think that's the right thing to do.

"We hope Chelsea drop points but the most important thing is that we're in such good form, we're winning our matches and you never know where that could take us. With the form we're in right now, we're looking forward to all of our games and I don't think it matters who we play.

"We've got a massive game on Saturday against Bolton but we want to continue this great run and see where we end up."
