FERGIE FLUSTERED

"I don't know how to approach the Stuttgart game to be honest. You don't know who the other winners or the runners-up are going to be."

"You could have Besiktas, Porto, Ajax, or Celtic - who's away form is terrible. They haven't won a game away and they are in Lyon. Bayern Munich should beat Anderlecht and finish second, but it's tight.

"I will probably give Roy Carroll a game. We have got to beat them to win the group. They are not the kind of team that is going to bust their lungs trying to beat you, I think it is more a case of you having to beat them.

"I have got to assess how I use Paul and maybe bring him back and save Roy Keane for the derby game against City. I could put Keano on the bench.

"Paul has been doing quite well, but he still feels a little tightness at times, but that is only scar tissue. I thought I might just play him in the Reserves at Bristol City on Wednesday if I wanted to give him a full game, but if I put him on the bench on Tuesday and maybe only give him 20 minutes it is maybe not enough.

"It is just picking the right moment to play him. You miss a player like Paul all the time. Even if you are winning games, we won the Rangers game without him and over in Athens, but you think maybe in a game like last Sunday if we had brought him on for the last 20 minutes he may have unlocked them.

"The important thing hopefully is we are going to have him for the rest of the season and that is more important."
