FERGIE FOCUSED ON FENERBAHCE

Ferguson:

"I always felt the record was a pressure on me. It was like an albatross around my neck so when it was over I thought; `Thank goodness that is out of the way' because I knew it was bound to happen some time."

"You knew you were bound to lose one game. Maybe not to a goal like that, against Fenerbahce, but I remember it well. I can still see them passing the ball into the left back position and there was no challenge. The shot was deflected into the roof of the net and that was that.

"We had beaten Fenerbahce in Turkey and had qualified for the next stage when they came here so it wasn't really an important game from that point of view. I think Turkish football is to be respected. Galatasaray won the UEFA Cup three years ago and the Turkish national team did well against Brazil in the World Cup and could have won that game. They have produced some good individual players and we are not underestimating them.”
