Peter Kenyon wants to sit Fergie down and get him to commit to a new contract.

"When the manager decided to stay on 18 months ago, his idea was to reinvigorate things with youth.

"The manager has always wanted to see his new sides through to their peak as well.

"We are yet to sit down and discuss an extension to his contract. But it is clear to me that we are going to have Alex for many years to come.

"This is the first fruits of a new team and the signings demonstrate our commitment to the future."

The Sun claims Fergie wants to stay in charge for five more years.
