Let’s hope so as it means they won’t be playing, but wasn’t there once a time when a young player was someone under 19, not in their early twenties?

Alex Ferguson, "With the young players having played only once in a month, I won't be starting them. The good thing is that with the (senior) players having seven days break they are ready for games now.

"We won't have a full squad because we have Liverpool on Saturday with a 12.30 kick-off so I will have one eye on that and one on this game tomorrow."

Fergie also points out how good our record is in semi finals, "Our record in domestic semi-finals is fantastic. I don't think we have lost one for over 20 years and our record against Chelsea in cup-ties is fantastic. It's a confidence-booster going into a semi-final, knowing our record is so good and that we can always turn up trumps.

"It's a one-off situation and I don't even look at it as a two-leg tie. Whoever gets the advantage tomorrow will be very difficult to stop.”
